Getting started

Does it cost anything?

Pantry is free. You pay Zepto for your groceries as you always would.

What do I need?

Telegram, and a Zepto account with your delivery address saved in the Zepto app. See Join and connect.

Which shops does it work with?

Zepto.

Why is it invite-only?

Pantry orders with real money, so new people are let in one at a time. Family can join any time with an invite link.

Ordering

What if it mishears me?

It shows what it heard and what’s in the basket, and gives you 3 minutes before ordering. Far more than usual, and it asks first. See Ask for groceries.

Can I order something just once without it being remembered?

Every pick is remembered as your usual for that item, and can’t be changed from the chat yet. Ask for something by a more specific name (“brown bread”) to keep it separate.

Can I try it without it ordering?

Yes: with /ordering off, nothing is ordered until you tap Order now. See Ordering on or off.

Will it touch my Zepto app’s cart?

No. Pantry fills a cart of its own on your Zepto account, apart from the one in the app. What you leave in the app’s cart stays there, and is never ordered by Pantry.

How do I track a delivery?

In the Zepto app, as usual. Pantry places the order; Zepto delivers it.

Money

Can it spend more than I want?

It’s built not to: every bill is checked against your list and your daily limit, and it pays only from your Zepto wallet or in cash. See How your money stays safe.

Could it order the same thing twice?

It never retries an order it can’t confirm. If something interrupts an order, it tells you to check the Zepto app instead.

Does it get discounts?

You pay what Zepto’s bill says, with whatever offers Zepto applies to your account.

Family and privacy

Can my family use it?

Yes. The owner sends /invite; everyone orders into one basket. See Order as a family.

Does an AI read my messages?

Yes. Claude, an AI by Anthropic, reads the text of each message to understand what you asked for. Your recording never leaves Pantry’s server. See Privacy and your data.

How do I delete everything?

Send /leave. When the last person leaves, the account’s login, picks and history are deleted.
